Ash Wednesday service

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent in the church calendar. Lent runs from Ash Wednesday through Holy Saturday which is 40 weekdays, minus Sundays. In the Christian church it is a time devoted to fasting, abstinence, and penitence in commemoration of Christ’s fasting in the wilderness. We will gather together on March 6th at 7:00 p.m. where together we will prepare ourselves to enter into a time of self-reflection regarding our spiritual walk, partaking of Holy Communion, receiving ashes (optional), and making a commitment over the next 40 days to do something that will assist us in drawing closer to God.

This year during the service, we will be using the 12 steps of AA as an aide to each of us to help us do our own spiritual evaluation and then determine an area that we want to focus on during Lent.

Come and join us as together we all seek to be more Christ-like in our Christian faith and walk.
