Christian Education

Christian Education is more than a Sunday morning program with our children. It’s living the Christian life EVERY day of the week by developing right attitudes, being aware of our neighbor’s needs, and accepting our responsibilities as parents, as leaders, and as young people.

In order for this to happen, we the Church and You the Home, must join forces with intelligence and enthusiasm to successfully train and educate our children in the Christian Faith.

Where do we begin? First we must have a very real and personal relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ whom we must accept as our Savior, Friend and Lord… and live according to His example. We then need to make faithful use of the Word of God, the Bible using it as a guideline for our lives and how we should live. Finally, we need to be involved, no matter how old we are, in going to Sunday School, Bible Studies, etc. A parents we lead our children by example, showing them a more excellent way. Our children learn by watching and listening to everything that we do and say, which places a tremendous responsibility upon us as adults.

We believe this can be done only through prayer, regular church attendance, stewardship, and service to others. Did you know that a child will spend 83% of his/her time at home or daycare, 16% at school and only 1% is spent in church. This means that we have only 40 short hours a year to teach our children the most crucial and important lessons for life and it is essential that our children come regularly and on time.

We make available to the congregation the best of Christian material through our library with up to date books, music, magazines and videos to help encourage, strengthen, and enable young and old alike to live the Christian life and enjoy it. Jesus said, “I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly”(John 10:10)

Christian Education begins with us as individuals and involves every area of our lives, whether young or old, married or single, working or in school and is something that all of us need to make an investment in.

Our Sunday School program runs from the 2nd Sunday of September until the 2nd Sunday of June from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., ages 3 through high school. The children are dismissed at 9:45 am to go to Sunday School. Staying for the first 15 minutes of the service helps the children learn what church is all about as well as become familiar with many of the traditional hymns, the Lord’s Prayer and other aspects of worship.

We recognize that the children are not only the church of tomorrow, but they are the church of today, for what they learn today will be what they practice tomorrow.

Come and join us as we seek to be more like Him.
