The last recorded words of Jesus are: “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.”
We practice both infant and adult baptism.
Infant baptism is where the parents bring their child to be dedicated to the Lord with the understanding that the act of baptism does not save the child, and that the child will need to one day make their own choice to accept Christ as their Savior and follow Him.
Adult baptisms takes place upon ones profession of faith and is done in a similar manner like the infant baptism by making the sign of the cross on the forehead of the person being baptized or by immersion upon request of the individual.
The act of baptism does in no way save anyone, but is done in obedience to the words of Jesus, it is symbolic of the old man (ways of doing things and believing) dying and the new man (living Christian values and believing that the Bible is the written Word of God) rising, and the individual is making a public statement to the world that they are a Christian and are choosing to follow Jesus.
