Alpha reaches out to men who are incarcerated in CT. Thru its on-site training, Alpha helps them live their lives with a Christian focus, which in turn will make them productive members of society upon their release.

Pivot Ministries is a residential faith-based treatment program for men located in Bridgeport, CT. They are a nonprofit agency which is assisting men challenged by alcohol and substance abuse. Pivot treats drug and alcohol addiction as a spiritual problem and returns the men to their families usefully whole.

The Hoving Home is a residential faith-based treatment program for women. They have 9 campuses across the US, we support the one in Garrison, NY. They are a nonprofit agency assisting women challenged by alcohol and substance abuse. The Hoving Home boasts a 82% success rate.

We support a missionary who grew up in our church and now works to bring Christ’s message of hope to middle and high school students near Orlando, FL. She visits us annually and provides frequent updates on their progress.

We currently support two missionaries: one who is directly working on Bible translations, and the other who works on the IT side of the operation.

Wheels for the World

Wheels for the World (WFTW) provides the gifts of mobility as well as hope of the gospel to those affected by disability worldwide. People with limited mobility are often isolated because they have no way of moving around. Receiving a wheelchair allows them to become part of their communities, changing their lives forever. First Congregational Church of Cromwell (FCC) has been a proud supporter of Wheels for the World for many years.

The WFTW team travels all over Connecticut collecting devices which then are stored in a donated warehouse. Periodically, Joni & Friends sends a tractor trailer to pick them up for refurbishing. FCC has collected over 3,000 wheelchairs since 2018!

What can be donated?
Locally, there is a drop-off site at the Cromwell Municipal Recycling Center on County Line Road. WFTW accepts manual wheelchairs, folding aluminum walkers, metal crutches, canes and wheelchair parts. Sadly, we are unable to take wooden devices as the humidity and insect infestation in some locations make unsuitable conditions for wood. We also cannot accept electric wheelchairs or scooters, or other medical devices, but can direct you to someone who may.
For more information, visit WFTW’s website or contact:

If you or someone you know has equipment to donate, call us. We can arrange to have the equipment picked up, and tax receipts can be provided. We do not loan out wheelchairs, walkers, etc. but can direct you to a local organization that may be able to help you.
